SINTOK: The Student Representative Council (SRC) of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) has been awarded an RM20,000 SRC Activity Grant by the Perkasa Siswa Foundation (YPS), to support student welfare activities.
The grant was presented by the Minister of Higher Education, Dato’ Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir, during the In Person with Doc Zam programme held at Mu’adzam Shah Hall.
The cheque was received by the President of UUM SRC, Mr. Syahril Sofian, in the presence of Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan and Chief Executive Officer of YPS, Mr. Hirman Awang.
Additionally, a total of RM25,000 in educational aid was also awarded to 25 underprivileged UUM students, with each recipient receiving RM1,000.
Also present at the event were the Director General of the Department of Higher Education, Prof. Dato’ Dr Norazlinda Azman and the Chairman of the University Board of Directors, Tan Sri Dr Mohd Shukor Mahfar.
