UUM Vice-Chancellor Shares Insights on Kampung Angkat MADANI 2025 Programme on KEDAHfm

ALOR SETAR, 1 July 2025: Prof. Dato’ Dr Mohd. Foad Sakdan, the Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), appeared as a guest on KEDAHfm with presenter DJ CTZ for an interview about the Kampung Angkat MADANI UUM 2025 Programme (UUM MADANI Adopted Village 2025).

During the interview, broadcast on RTM Kedah, Prof. Dato’ Dr Mohd. Foad Sakdan expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to share UUM’s latest community-based initiatives with the wider public.

He warmly welcomed the announcement made by the Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, during the tabling of Budget 2025, which included the expansion of the MADANI Adopted Village Programme, originally introduced in 2024.

Prof. Dr Mohd. Foad shared that UUM was deeply honoured when its proposal to implement the programme in 2025 received approval, backed by the Ministry of Finance Malaysia (MOF).

Kampung Tengah, Kuala Kedah was selected as the programme site, with an allocation of RM1 million to support the implementation of various community-focused activities designed to deliver direct and lasting benefits to the local community.

He also expressed his hope that the UUM MADANI Adopted Village 2025 Programme would serve as a reference model for other universities, contributing meaningfully to holistic community development and the empowerment of individuals across the nation.
