VC Leads Courtesy Visit to MIGHT to Strengthen University–Industry Collaboration
CYBERJAYA: Prof. Dato’ Dr Mohd Fo’ad Sakdan, the Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), headed a delegation from the UUM Centre for University-Industry Collaboration (CUIC) on a courtesy visit to the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) yesterday.
The UUM delegation was warmly received by the Chief Executive Officer of MIGHT, Ts. Rushdi Abdul Rahim. Also present were Ts. Dr. Mohd Muzzammil Ismail and Mdm. Fera Fizani Ahmad Fizri.
The meeting marked the beginning of a new chapter in strengthening strategic relationships between universities and industry, while also exploring various avenues for collaboration that could directly benefit the students, the academic community and the broader higher education ecosystem in Malaysia.
UUM brings its specialised expertise in economics and international relations to support MIGHT’s mission of expediting the technology transfer among nations. This collaboration enables both parties to significantly contribute to advancing the national development agenda, with a strong emphasis on technology and innovation.
Furthermore, UUM has also expressed its interest in participating in the Smart City Application Initiative through a university-affiliated company (UUM spin-off), in line with its commitment to translating research findings into practical solutions that benefit the community.
