SINTOK, 17 September 2025: Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) has signed a “Release and Settlement” agreement with Kumpulan METEOR Sdn. Bhd. and ANSI Datascience Sdn. Bhd. in a ceremony held at Balai Tamu.
The signing ceremony involved UUM Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof. Dr Ram Al Jaffri Saad; Chief Executive Officer of Kumpulan METEOR, Dato’ Naharudin Ali, and Chief Executive Officer of ANSI Datascience, Mahfuzal Othman.
In his address, UUM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan, said that the strategic collaboration with these two entities marks an important catalyst in ushering a new revolution in UUM’s financial system.
According to him, the Financial Information Management System (FIMS) was developed to administer and manage the university’s financial affairs more effectively and efficiently.
He added that UUM’s FIMS was launched on 28 December 2021, and following its successful development, the university obtained certification under the Standard Accounting System for Government Agencies (SAGA) in October 2024.
“The SAGA certification is highly significant in ensuring the credibility of the FIMS system in carrying out financial operations in compliance with the requirements set for all public agencies.
I hope the ‘Release and Settlement’ agreement signed today with Kumpulan METEOR Sdn. Bhd. and ANSI Datascience Sdn. Bhd. will further strengthen efforts to drive excellence in the digitalisation of the university’s financial ecosystem,” he said.
The event also featured a document exchange between the parties, witnessed by the UUM Vice-Chancellor.
Also present were UUM Legal Advisor, Assoc. Prof. Dr Khadijah Mohamed; Deputy Bursar, Mr. Mohtar Hasim (performing the functions of the Bursar); Director of UUMIT, Assoc. Prof. Dr Mohd Khairudin Kasiran; along with delegates from Kumpulan METEOR and ANSI Datascience, as well as senior university officials.
