KUALA LUMPUR, 25 November 2025: The Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB), Universiti Utara Malaysia, successfully conducted its Power BI Essentials: Turning Data into Insights workshop on 16 November at the OYAGSB Kuala Lumpur campus. The full-day session was specially designed for students from the MBA, MBM, and DBA programmes to strengthen their analytical and digital competencies.
Moderated by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr Izwan Nizal Mohd Shahranee, a lecturer at the School of Quantitative Sciences, the workshop guided participants through the fundamentals of Power BI, data visualisation techniques, and practical approaches to transforming raw data into meaningful business insights.
With Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data-driven decision-making becoming increasingly vital in today’s business landscape, the session offered students an invaluable hands-on learning experience. Many participants expressed their satisfaction, noting that the workshop significantly enhanced their understanding of business analytics and its real-world applications.
“This workshop is very beneficial, and we hope for more sessions like this in the future. Continuous exposure to AI-related tools will further support our professional development and readiness for industry challenges” said Mr. Abd Majid Bin Maarof, a semester 4 MBA student.
