UUM Adjunct Professor recognised among Top 10 Voices In HR and People Strategy in Malaysia

SINTOK, 3 February 2026: Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) extends its congratulations to Shazmi Ali, Adjunct Professor at the School of Business Management (SBM), on his recognition as one of the Top 10 Voices in HR, Leadership & People Strategy in Malaysia (2026).

Shazmi Ali is currently the Vice President of Human Resources at Shell Business Operations Asia and is recognised for his extensive experience in leading people strategy at the global level. His expertise includes workforce transformation, inclusive leadership, and organisational agility across multi-regional and complex business environments.

The recognition acknowledges leaders who are redefining the role of human resource management as a strategic function in response to emerging challenges such as artificial intelligence adoption, economic uncertainty, and changing workforce expectations.

His appointment as an Adjunct Professor reflects UUM’s continuous efforts to strengthen industry–academia collaboration. Through his engagement with SBM, Shazmi Ali contributes industry-based perspectives that support teaching, learning, and knowledge sharing in the areas of management and leadership.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shuhymee Ahmad, Dean of the School of Business Management, the involvement of industry practitioners in academic programmes enhances the relevance of business education and supports UUM’s aspiration to remain responsive to current industry needs.

This recognition further reinforces UUM’s position as a leading management university committed to producing future-ready graduates through strong industry engagement and academic excellence.
