SINTOK, 14 April 2026: Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr Ahmad Martadha Mohamed, said the strong global standing achieved by the accounting programme at the Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz School of Accountancy (TISSA) reflects the quality of its students and academic staff.
He added that the programme’s impressive performance and position in international rankings further demonstrate UUM’s capability to compete at the international level.
“UUM and TISSA extend their appreciation to all contributors, both within the university and beyond, including prominent business figure and founder of Yayasan Muhibah, Brigadier General (Honorary) Tan Sri Prof. Dr Fng Ah Seng, whose longstanding support and meaningful contributions have clearly impacted the development of academic programmes at UUM and TISSA,” he said in his speech during the Staff Appreciation and Aidilfitri Get-Together Ceremony, held at EDC Hotels & Resorts Sintok.
The ceremony was organised to recognise and celebrate the dedication of all TISSA members who contributed to the school’s outstanding achievements over the past year, culminating in its placement among the world’s top 101 in the QS World University Rankings.
The occasion also served as a tribute to the vital role played by the TISSA UUM community as the backbone of the school’s success across academic excellence, publications, and community service.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed hope that the appreciation ceremony would inspire and motivate the UUM community to continue striving for excellence in various fields, while also strengthening the bonds between management and staff.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Yayasan Muhibah, Brigadier General (Honorary) Tan Sri Prof. Dr Fng Ah Seng, who attended as the guest of honour, also extended his congratulations to UUM and the TISSA community for securing second place overall in UUM’s Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for 2025.
He described the achievement as a testament to the dedication, discipline, and unwavering commitment demonstrated by the TISSA community in delivering impactful education.
