Tunku Mahkota of Kedah Grants Audience to UUM Vice-Chancellor

ALOR SETAR, 5 May 2026: His Royal Highness Tunku Shazuddin Ariff Ibni Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin, the Tunku Mahkota of Kedah and Pro-Chancellor of Universiti Utara Malaysia, graciously granted an audience to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr Ahmad Martadha Mohamed at Wisma Darul Aman this morning.

The audience provided an opportunity for the Vice-Chancellor to formally introduce himself following his appointment, as well as to present the newly appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni).

Also in attendance was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni), Assoc. Prof. Dr Bakti Hasan Basri.

In addition, Prof. Dr Ahmad Martadha apprised His Royal Highness of recent developments at the university, including the organisation of UUM’s 39th Convocation Ceremony.

He also highlighted UUM’s graduate employability performance based on Talentbank assessment, as well as UUM’s initiative to establish an OKU Rehabilitation Centre, supported by a contribution of RM1.5 million from the Ministry of Higher Education.

In addition, the Vice-Chancellor also apprised His Royal Highness on the development of the MADANI Students’ Kitchen ecosystem, ongoing publication efforts, and the establishment of the Kedah Tua Gallery as part of efforts to strengthen the role of the university.
