SINTOK, 18 May 2026: The Global Buddies Club, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), successfully organised a golf session titled “Golf to Gather” for inbound mobility students of Semester A252 at the National Golf Academy UUM. The programme provided participants with unique opportunity to experience the fundamentals of golf while enjoying the serene and picturesque surroundings of UUM’s golf course.

Designed to introduce students to the sport in a fun and engaging manner, the session covered essential golfing techniques such as a proper grip, stance, swing posture, and basic swing mechanics. Guided by experienced coaches from the National Golf Academy, participants were given clear demonstrations alongside hands-on practical training throughout the programme.

The interactive and supportive learning environment made the session both enjoyable and enriching, encouraging students to build confidence with every swing.

A total of 27 international students and 14 organising committee members took part in the event, creating a lively atmosphere filled with enthusiasm, laughter, and meaningful cultural exchange. Beyond learning the sport, the programme served as a valuable platform for students from diverse countries and cultural backgrounds to interact, foster friendships, and strengthen intercultural understanding.

Despite differences in language and prior experience, participants supported one another through shared encouragement, friendly interactions, and memorable moments together.

The tranquil setting of the golf course further enhanced the overall experience, allowing participants to relax, connect, and appreciate the natural beauty of the UUM campus. Many students described the programme as both inspiring and memorable, as it not only introduced them to new golfing skills but also enabled them to create lasting friendships and meaningful shared experiences throughout their mobility journey at UUM. – Shei Khee
