UUM Strengthens Legal Literacy Through CEO@Faculty and Launch of JUST Programme
SINTOK, 18 June 2026: Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) continues to strengthen legal literacy and nurture graduates with integrity through the CEO@Faculty programme, which serves as a platform for distinguished professionals to share their expertise and experiences with the university community.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof. Dr Ram Al Jaffri Saad, who represented the UUM Vice-Chancellor, said the presence of the Attorney General of Malaysia, Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar, went beyond that of a guest speaker and reflected his commitment as a national leader to share insights and inspire students.
According to Prof. Dr Ram, the programme is aligned with UUM’s philosophy, Knowledge, Virtue and Service, which aims to produce graduates who not only excel academically but also possess strong character, integrity, and a spirit of service to society.
According to him, the knowledge acquired at university should be complemented by exposure to real-world experience, especially in the legal field, to develop future practitioners who are ethical and competent.
“The knowledge acquired is not solely for academic excellence, but should also shape character, morality, and values, while being applied for the betterment of society,” he said.
Prof. Dr Ram further noted that the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) plays a vital role as the Government’s a legal adviser and serves as the pillar in upholding the rules of law in the country.
During the event, UUM also launched the Socio-Transformational Law Network (JUST) Premier Programme, an initiative aimed at strengthening community engagement and enhancing legal awareness and literacy among the community.
He expressed hope that such initiatives would broaden students’ perspectives on leadership, professionalism, and integrity, thus preparing them to meet the challenges of the working world and contribute meaningfully to society.
