Vice-Chancellor Meets UUM Alumni in Jakarta, Strengthens International Network
JAKARTA, 14 July 2026: Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr Ahmad Martadha Mohamed,took time during his official visit to Jakarta to meet with UUM alumni who are currently working and living in Indonesia.

The meeting was led by Mr Abdis Salam, Coordinator of Ikatan Alumni Pelajar Indonesia se-Malaysia (IKAPIM), and attended by several UUM alumni. Discussions focused on strengthening ties between the alumni and their alma mater, while exploring opportunities for strategic collaborations that would benefit both parties.
Professor Dr Ahmad Martadha Mohamed expressed his appreciation to the UUM alumni community in Indonesia for its continued commitment to promoting the University and serving as an important link between UUM and prospective students, higher education institutions, and relevant agencies.
He also emphasised that the alumni network is a strategic asset to the university and can contribute significantly to UUM’s internationalisation agenda through the sharing of expertise, the development of academic collaborations and the promotion of Malaysian higher education across region.
Among the alumni present were Tengku Mohd. Khairal Abdullah, Fredia Yuzirwan, Dr. OK Mohd. Fajar Ikhsan, Ashar Fauzan, Raihan Gumilang and Annisa Yasmin Mutia.
Held in a warm and cordial atmosphere, the meeting reflected the close relationship between UUM and its alumni in Indonesia. It also further strengthened the role of the alumni community as ambassadors of the University in expanding academic collaboration networks and strengthening Malaysia-Indonesia relations.
