OYAGSB and Inasis BSN advance international CSR collaboration through food education initiative in Vietnam

HO CHI MINH CITY, 9 August 2026: Reaffirming its commitment to global engagement and social responsibility, the Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB), Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), in partnership with INASIS Bank Simpanan Nasional (INASIS BSN), recently concluded a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The delegation participated in the “Food Education Workshop – Nourishing Vietnam,” an event jointly organised by Foodbank Vietnam and the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH). The initiative brought together higher education institutions and community organisations to promote nutritional awareness, sustainable community development and cross-cultural exchange.
Designed to empower youth, the workshop educated children on balanced nutrition, healthy eating habits and food sustainability through interactive learning activities. More than 100 underprivileged children from SOS Children’s Village Vietnam participated, gaining practical insights into healthy living in an engaging environment. Demonstrating their support, the OYAGSB and INASIS BSN delegation distributed educational packages containing colouring books, art supplies and learning materials to spark creativity and encourage ongoing education among the young participants.
Expressing gratitude, Mr. Van, Vice President of Foodbank Vietnam, highlighted the significance of the event: “We are honoured to welcome a Malaysian higher education institution to collaborate with Foodbank Vietnam on this meaningful programme. As our first initiative with a Malaysian university, we are deeply touched by the delegation’s generosity. We hope this partnership serves as the foundation for many future impactful collaborations.”
This initiative aligns with OYAGSB’s broader commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG4 (Quality Education) and SDG17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Beyond the CSR workshop, the delegation strengthened academic ties through an official bilateral meeting at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH). Welcomed by Dr. Tran Thi Tuan Anh, Vice Rector of the College of Economics, Law and Government at UEH, both parties explored prospective collaborations in student mobility and joint international programmes.
The visit marks another significant milestone in expanding UUM’s global network, reinforcing both institutions’ shared vision of cultivating sustainable partnerships that benefit students, faculty and the broader community.
