SINTOK, 14 April 2025 – A total of seven staff members from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) received their promotion letters during a formal ceremony held earlier this morning at the Vice-Chancellor’s Meeting Room.
The letters of appointment were presented by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan, and involved promotions for five academic staff members to the position of Professor VK7 across various academic schools, as well as two administrative staff members who were promoted to the position of Medical Officer UD12.
One of the recipients, Prof. Dr Halimah Abdul Manaf, described the promotion as a strong motivator to continue contributing to academic development and knowledge dissemination.
“I also believe that this promotion is a form of appreciation, demonstrating the university’s strong support for the academic growth and the sharing of knowledge by its academic staff.
“I also hope more of my academic colleagues will succeed in being promoted to the rank of professor, so that, together, we can contribute more proactively at both the national and international levels,” she said.
Meanwhile, Dr. Asfarina Abdul Razak, a medical officer who was also promoted, expressed hope that this achievement would serve as motivation to serve with greater professionalism and integrity.
Also present at the ceremony was the Registrar, Mr. Ahmad Rasidi Abdullah.
