TISSA-UUM welcomes 22 IRBM Officers for the 8th Cohort MSc. (International Accounting) Programme

KUALA LUMPUR, 20 MAY 2026: The enduring strategic collaboration between the Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz School of Accountancy (TISSA-UUM) and the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM) continues to flourish with the successful organisation of the Welcoming and Registration Session for the 8th Cohort of the Master of Science (International Accounting) – MSc. (IA) – programme, held today at the UUM Kuala Lumpur Campus (UUMKL).
This exclusive collaborative postgraduate programme welcomed 22 IRBM officers as newly registered students, further reinforcing the longstanding partnership between academia and industry in advancing professional expertise, institutional excellence, and national human capital development.
To date, the collaboration has successfully produced graduates from six completed cohorts, while another cohort is currently undergoing the programme.
Commencing at 9:00 a.m., the event was attended by senior representatives from both organisations whose presence reflected their unwavering commitment towards supporting lifelong learning and professional advancement among the officers.
Representing the Potential Management Division under the IRBM’s Human Capital Sector were Mr. Rizal bin Ahmad Shapiei, Director of the Division; Mr. Ahmad Nazmi bin Ahmad Naser, Revenue Executive from the Talent Development and Psychology Section; and Mr. Mohd Annafi bin Jamaludin, Revenue Assistant III from the same section.
Meanwhile, representatives from TISSA-UUM and the College of Business (COB) included Associate Professor Dr. Raja Haslinda Raja Mohd Ali, Dean of TISSA-UUM; Dr. Mohd Hadafi Sahdan, Programme Chair for MSc (IA); Associate Professor Dr. Idawati Ibrahim, Programme Chair for Master in Taxation; and Professor Datuk Ts. Dr. Norazah Mohd Suki, Deputy Dean (Academic and International) of the Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB).
The programme began with a welcoming address by the Dean of TISSA-UUM, Associate Professor Dr. Raja Haslinda Raja Mohd Ali, who expressed profound appreciation for IRBM’s continued confidence in TISSA-UUM’s academic capabilities and professional expertise. The session was then followed by an inspiring address from Mr. Rizal bin Ahmad Shapiei, who encouraged the officers to pursue academic excellence while maintaining equilibrium between their professional responsibilities and academic pursuits.
Subsequently, Dr. Mohd Hadafi Sahdan delivered a detailed academic briefing outlining the structure of the MSc. (IA) programme, expectations, and delivery mode of the programme. He explained that the programme had been meticulously tailored to meet the professional demands of IRBM officers through a flexible part-time and module-based study mode.
To ensure a seamless registration process, the session was coordinated by staff of the Othman Yeop Abdullah Graduate School of Business (OYAGSB) Kuala Lumpur with the assistance of TISSA-UUM personnel.
The welcoming and registration session concluded successfully at approximately 1:00 p.m.
