UUM Strengthens International Ties at the Ayuh Kuliah Malaysia 2025 Programme
JAKARTA, 13 July 2025: The Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohd Foad Sakdan attended the Opening Ceremony of the Ayuh Kuliah Malaysia 2025 Programme held in Jakarta, yesterday.
Organised by Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), the programme is a strategic initiative aimed at promoting Malaysian higher education to international students, particularly within the ASEAN region.
The ceremony was officiated by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia, Datuk Dr Anesee Ibrahim, who also took the time to visit the UUM exhibition booth in support of UUM’s international outreach efforts.
Accompanying the Vice-Chancellor was the UUM delegation, comprising Prof. Dr Azizuddin Mohd Sani, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), and Assoc. Prof. Dr Mohd Khairie Ahmad, the Dean of the School of Multimedia and Communication Technology (SMMTC).
As part of the same mission, UUM signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with three leading Indonesian universities, marking a significant step toward strengthening academic and research cooperation. The institutions include Universitas Airlangga represented by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Student and Alumni, Prof. Dr. Bambang Sektiari Lukiswanto; Universitas Katolik Atma Jaya represented by Vice-Rector for Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Yanti; and Universitas Ciputra represented by the Dean of the Faculty of Tourism, Prof. Dr. Agoes Tinus Lis Indrianto.
These collaborations are expected to foster greater opportunities for student exchange, mobility programmes, joint research and academic development within their respective fields of expertise.
